There are only a few individuals working in Real Estate that I would recommend to a friend. Dotty Lou Farias would be one such person. She is not only gregarious and a terrific sales person, but pays extremely close attention to details. The recent sale of our home in Orange Beach became complicated because of the inexperience of the buyer's agent. With a weak sellers market surrounding I made the decision to hire James Calvert of RE/MAX of Gulf Shores' "Pro Team" to represent our properties in a new subdivision. 11 months later we have sold out the entire subdivision through pre-sale and are currently two months from completing the final custom home in the subdivision. Arriving in Lower Alabama for the first time in April 2008, my wife and I were fortunate to be introduced to RE/MAX Gulf Shores and specifically James Calvert. As foreigners seeking a US dollar investment opportunity James’ British background combined with five years at the sharp end of the Gulf Coast market was invaluable.
During three trips to the area this summer James arranged viewings of a comprehensive sample of the available property stock and introduced us to key players in the surveying, contracting, mortgage and banking sectors.
His efforts have enabled us to commit to date approximate $1,000,000 in equity to a number of below market opportunities in the area, and we intend to continue buying thru the winter.
As the administrative backbone of RE/MAX Gulf Shores – The Pro Team Karen is a godsend, especially for non-residents unfamiliar with the ins and outs inherent in transacting real estate deals in Alabama.
She is always on hand to answer esoteric queries and keeps the transaction process running smoothly. On one occasion she calmly and efficiently resolved a serious misunderstanding between UK and US bankers without which was endangering a closing deadline.

Dotty -
Sandy and I just wanted to take a moment and "Thank You" for all that you have done for us during this past year. We really appreciate your professionalism and patience. You and Buzz always had our best interests at heart and never appeared to get tired of showing me everything on the market.
We love our new hom on the Bay and look forward to the time when we can spend many months a year in Fort Morgan. You never lost recollection of my first e-mail to you explaining what we were looking for, and while I tried to broaden the search at several points, you always brought me back on target. The house is exactly what we were looking for all along. I believe few would have remembered what I told you we were looking for and would have just set off showing us anything with hopes that something would stick.
I also want to thank Karen "O" and her ability to keep thinkgs rolling once contracts were signed. There is sure a lot to do after signatures and before closing. She did an excellent job and is an asset yto your Team. You and those around you have made this long distance purchase a pleasure. We wish you the best.
